The transition into young adulthood is rarely straightforward. Teenagers today face unprecedented pressure from academic demands, social media, changing relationship dynamics, and identity development. When these pressures build up without an outlet, they often manifest as severe anxiety, low mood, emotional outbursts, or complete social withdrawal.
I provide a confidential, independent environment outside of both the family home and school, working with young people aged 12 and over to help them understand their feelings. Working closely with young people across West Yorkshire, including Batley and surrounding areas, I help them manage stressful complexities within a pluralistic framework.
Sessions are £50 per session.
It is completely normal for a teenager to feel hesitant, anxious, or defensive about starting therapy. Because of this, our initial session focuses entirely on building a comfortable connection and breaking down any preconceptions about counselling. There is no pressure to talk about deeply personal or difficult topics right away; the young person sets the pace that feels safe for them.
As we progress, we look beneath the surface to identify the root causes driving specific habits, anxious thoughts, or behavioral changes. By introducing straightforward cognitive tools and emotional regulation techniques, I help them regain control, improve their communication at home, and handle peer pressures with confidence.

Adolescence brings a complex mix of neurological, emotional, and social changes. I regularly support young people through a wide variety of serious difficulties, including:
Breaking the cycle of overwhelming thoughts, exam stress, perfectionism, social anxiety, and the physical symptoms of panic attacks.
Addressing persistent sadness, chronic fatigue, loss of interest in hobbies, and the heavy feelings of loneliness that lead to withdrawal.
Helping teenagers understand the internal triggers behind intense anger and providing safer, more constructive ways to channel frustration.
Navigating low self-worth, body image struggles, and the constant, exhausting comparison culture driven by social media platforms.
Using a collaborative approach, I help young people process past traumas, distressing life events, parental separation, bereavement, and other triggering events.
It is common to hesitate before reaching out for support for your teenager, but addressing their difficulties early can prevent challenges from becoming deeply rooted. Whether they are struggling with a specific issue like anxiety, school stress, or low mood, or simply need a safe space to process their thoughts, taking action today can guide them back to a happier, healthier path.
